GPAC Bantam and Midget Tryouts begin with Conditioning Aug 24 - 26 and then the Tryouts on the weekend Aug 28 - 30.
GPAC is looking forward to welcoming back players to the up coming tryout weekend. Our first priority in the return to play is to provide a safe environment for our players, coaches and volunteers.
We understand the excitement that comes with hockey starting up again.
However, in working within Coca Cola Centre and Alberta Health Services regulations for the limited capacity levels in each rink, GPAC has made the decision that in order to provide the safest possible environment for everyone involved that only players, coaches, evaluators and volunteers will be permitted in the building during the evaluation weekend.
GPAC will have all ice sessions streamed live so that families have the opportunity to watch the evaluation process on line. We realize that this may not be the most popular decision for some. However, with the current COVID 19 pandemic, GPAC is going to provide the safest environment possible for everyone, especially the players.
On Monday morning August 24, you will all be sent a link to the Wellness Check that each player must have completed before their ice time. Players cannot be allowed in the building unless it is completed. After Monday, the link will be emailed out to everyone again, each night for the next morning. There will be a volunteer at the door, taking attendance for the Contact Tracing Sheet.
This Wellness Check will also contain the protocols for the Coca Cola Centre. Please note that players are not allowed into the arena prior to 15 minutes ahead of the ice time. Players must come dressed except for skates. Everyone must exit the building within 10 minutes of the end of the ice time. There will be no showering.
On Friday -weather permitting- we will be handing out each group's jerseys outside 25 minutes before you are to go into the facility. You will be given instructions on this later.
Standard rules - bring your own filled water bottle, bring your own hand sanitizer, and snacks social distance at all times - be aware of your space!
We cannot meet as a group with the parents, so information will be provided on our website.
Please note that all events from August 24 to the end of August 29 are Socially Distanced. This means that if you do not make the list posted Saturday night, you are completely free to attend any other tryouts in your home towns immediately. If you are chosen for the Cohort events on Sunday, this would mean that if you are not chosen to continue on after Sunday or Sept 1 - 3, at that time you would need to isolate for 14 days in order to attend any other events.
