It’s a must-win for the Grande Peace Athletic Club Dreger Racing Team Storm today in a best-of-three Edmonton Rural Bantam AA Hockey League best-of-three White-Black Division playoff against the Lakeland Panthers.
Lakeland won Game 1 4-3 on Friday and could wrap it up when the two teams play today at 2:45 p.m. in Bonnyville.
Carter Kreller had two goals for the Storm and Spencer Rheaume a single. Ethan Barron made 24 stops in net.
Lakeland jumped out to period leads of 1-0 and 2-0.
If there is a Game 3 it will go Sunday at 12:15 p.m. in Bonnyville.
Winner of this series takes on the Red-Blue Division winner in the league championship final.
In Northern Alberta Midget AA Hockey League playoffs the GPAC Peaceland Directional Drilling Storm advanced to the semi-final against the Peace River Royals today at 5 p.m.
PDD finished the round-robin of the Bouchier Division championship in Whitecourt with a win and two losses - including falling 4-2 to the Royals today.
The Whitecourt Wolverines were 3-0 and got a bye to the final while the Royals ended up at 2-1 and Fort McMurray 0-3.
If the Storm beat the Royals today they take on the Wolverines at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the championship final with a chance to go to the league semi-final.

They fell 6-3 to the St. Albert Flyers and 4-3 to the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers in games Friday finishing the Alberta Minor Midget Hockey League Cross Ice Developments North Cup playoff at 0-3.
Fort Saskatchewan will take on the Leduc Oil Kings in one semi-final and the Sherwood Park Squires will square off in the other against the Flyers. The winner takes on the Sutter Cup South champions in the league final.
