TWO GET THREE FOR HITCH 'EM

Hitch ‘Em Oilfield Storm got some big production out of a pair of players on the weekend in Edmonton Rural Bantam AA Hockey League action.

Both Nicholas Bacon and Dusty Johnson scored three times to help Hitch ‘Em down the hometown Dawson Creek Canucks 10-2 on Friday.

The efforts by Bacon, 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds and a Charles Spencer High School student, and Johnson, 5-foot-4 and 105 pounds and a St. Joe’s High School Student, helped Hitch ‘Em to their third win of the season.

Bacon also had a goal on Sunday in a 5-1 loss to the Wainwright Polar Kings at the Crosslink County Sportsplex in Clairmont.

Other Hitch ‘Em scorers on Friday were Cade Reber, Morgan Bradly, Devon Barclay and Jasiah Vrabic.

Brennan Horcoff and Nathan Crawley combined to make 25 saves in BC against DC. Crawley made 34 saves on Sunday.

All six Grande Peace Athletic Club teams were in action on the weekend.

In other ERBAAHL play the Dreger Racing Team Storm downed the Polar Kings 5-3 on Saturday in Clairmont and fell 5-3 to the Peace River Sabres in Peace River on Sunday.

Brendan Wabick had two and Hayden Schultz, Spencer Rheaume and Landon Sather singles on Saturday and Ethan Barron made 28 stops while on Sunday Kyle Maloney had two and Jett Fogle a single while Barron made 31 stops.

Dreger sits in third place in the Black Division with 10 points.

The road was not kind to both the GPAC Midget AAA and Bantam AAA teams.

Ernie’s Sports Experts Midget AAA Storm fell 6-4 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday and then 7-4 to the Calgary Royals on Sunday in Alberta Midget Hockey League play.

Sheldon Kwiatkowski, Kaden Reinders and Jayden Watson scored and Cam Beeson (30 saves) tended the pipes on Saturday while on Sunday Kwiatkowski, Reinders, Mason Hartman and Edge Lambert scored and McCoy Bidewell stopped 37 of 44.

ESE continues to hold down second place in the Dodge Division with 19 points, just three back of division-leading Fort Saskatchewan Rangers.

The Golden Arrow Bantam AAA also wen 0-2 ln the road losing 7-1 to Edmonton K of C Squires on Saturday and falling 9-2 to the Leduc Oil Kings on Sunday in Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League play.

Ty Doucette had the lone GP goal in the first game and Vaugh Kaliel and Connor Stojan shared the netminding duties looking at 52 shots. Sunday Tyson Buchan and Simon Hamilton scored and the two netminders stopped 30 of 39.

GA sits in fifth place in the Charger North Division with a 1-14-1 record for three points.

The U16 Boston Pizza Storm got a split on the road.

On Saturday BP downed the Edmonton K of C Centennials 5-2 and Sunday fell 3-1 to the Leduc Oil Kings.

Tye Evans had two and Landon Hedges, Ethan Boutcher and Ethan Aebly singles in the first game and Eric Schultz stopped 31 of 33 shots in net.

Sunday Kjelt Sandboe got the lone BP goal and Terris Lappenbush made 23 saves.

BP is sixth in the North Division of the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League with 13 points.

The Peaceland Directional Drilling Storm had one game on the weekend and doubled the Strathcona Warriors 4-2 in Clairmont.

Rylen Kleist, Tanner Vinck, Brody Thomson and Tanner Davy scored for PDD while Lee Lappenbush got the win stopping 30 shots.

Peaceland is fifth in the Bouchier Division of the Edmonton Rural Alberta Midget AA Hockey League with six points.
