FOLEY LEADS THE WAY

The Grande Peace Athletic Club Ernie's Sports Experts Storm scored six times on the weekend in a pair of ties and Hudson Foley was involved in four of those goals.

The 16-year-old Teepee Creek native had two goals and an assist in a 4-4 tie in an Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League game in the Crosslink County Sportsplex on Saturday against the Calgary Buffalos and then pitched in with another goal in a 2-2 tie with the Red Deer Chiefs in the Sportsplex on Sunday.

Jayden Watson also collected four points with two goals on Saturday and two assists on Sunday.

In the game against the Buffalos McCoy Bidewell was tending the pipes and made 33 saves.

Sheldon Kwiatkowski had the other GP goal on Sunday while Cam Beson stopped 41 saves to help Ernie's to their third tie and 19th point. They sit second in the Dodge Division.

The Boston Pizza U16 Storm played a pair of Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League games against the visiting Leduc Oil Kings on the weekend with mixed results.

On Saturday Leduc rolled to a 7-2 win while the teams played to a 2-2 tie on Sunday.

Mason Kyllo and Denon Bamber scored the BP goals and Eric Schultz made 38 saves in the loss while Kyllo and Braeden Staples had the goals and Terris Lappenbush made 29 saves in the tie.

BP is seventh place in the division with 11 points - 13 back of division-leading Leduc.

The fifth GPAC tie of the weekend featured the Peaceland Directional Drilling Storm, who battled the Whitecourt Wolverines to a 5-5 draw on Saturday in Whitecourt.

Liam Morrow had two goals in that game and Brett Friesen, Tanner Davy and Rylen Kliest singles for PDD. Lee Lappenbush made 36 saves for GP.

On Sunday the visiting NEBC Trackers downed the Storm 3-2.

Davy and Jacksyn Clark had the goals in that game and Rylan Labrie made 41 saves for GP.

Peaceland sits in fifth place in the Bouchier Division of the Northern Alberta Midget AA Hockey League with a win, nine losses and two ties.

The Hitch 'Em OIlfield Hauling Storm played twice on the weekend as well losing 5-3 to the Peace River Sabres on Friday and downing the Camrose Bulldogs 2-1 on Saturday in a pair of home games.

Adam Morrow had two goals and Daimen Switzer a single and Nathan Crawley made 27 saves for Hitch 'Em in the first game.

On Saturday, Kyler Watson and Devon Barclay had the goals and Crawley made 17 saves.

Hitch 'Em is fourth in the Black Division with five points in the Edmonton Rural Bantam AA Hockey League.

There was no score available from the Dreger Racing Team game against the Bulldogs on Sunday.

The Golden Arrow Bantam AAA Storm were not in action on the weekend.
