Almost A .500 Weekend For GPAC Teams

Grande Peace Athletic Club teams came close to hitting .500 on the weekend on the road.

The four teams in action - Ernie's Sports Experts Midget AAA Storm, Golden Arrow Bantam AAA Storm, Boston Pizza U16 Storm and the Dreger Racing Team Bantam AA Storm - finished with three wins, four losses and a tie as all teams picked up at least a point.

Two goals each by Ty Toews and Edge Lambert helped Ernie's to an 8-2 win over the Lloydminster Bobcats in Alberta Midget Hockey League action on Saturday.

Jayden Watson, Dayne Tews, Kaden Reinders and Clayton Brown also scored in that game while McCoy Bidwell made 21 saves for GP.

On Sunday, in a home game played in St. Albert, Ernie's fell 4-1 to the Calgary Northstars.

Sheldon Kwiatkowski had the lone GP tally in that game while Cam Benson made 30 saves.

The two weekend points helped Ernie's move into second place in the Dodge Division with 13 points.

After a 4-1 loss to Edmonton SSAC on Saturday, Golden Arrow rebounded for a 3-3 tie on Sunday against the St. Albert Sabres.

In the first game Rhys Doyle got the goal and Connor Stojan and Vaugh Kaliel combined to make 23 saves.

On Sunday Carter Hensch, Steel Burke and Jaxon Young scored and Kaliel made 41 saves.

Golden Arrow sits fifth in the Charger Division of the Alberta Bantam Hockey League with three points.

The BP boys started with a 5-2 win over Edmonton MLAC on Saturday and then fell to Sherwood Park Squires 4-2 on Sunday.

Denon Bamber, Ethan Aebly, Jaydon Gordey, Ethan Boutcher and Alex Lopez scored on Saturday and Terris Lappenbush kicked out 42 shots for the win.

On Sunday Lappenbush and Eric Schultz combined to make 33 saves and Bamber and Kjelt Sandboe scored in the loss to the Squired.

Boston Pizza sits seventh in the North Division of the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League with nine points in 10 games.

One of the two GPAC Edmonton Rural Alberta Bantam AA Hockey League teams - Dreger Racing Team Storm - saw action.

They played a pair in Fort Mac defeating the Barons 3-1 on Saturday and falling 4-3 on Sunday.

Dieizel Lett had a pair and Spencer Rheaume one in the win while Ethan Barron stopped 26.
