The Dreger Racing Team Storm left the Crosslink County Sportsplex in Clairmont on Sunday with Grande Peace Athletic Club bragging rights.
In Edmonton Rural Bantam AA Hockey League play Dreger took on league rival GPAC Hitch 'Em Oilfield Hauling Storm and rolled off with a 7-1 win in a match between two teams sponsored by chuckwagon racing drivers - Dean of the Western Chuckwagon Association with Dreger Racing Team and Mitch Sutherland of the World Professional Chuckwagon Association with Hitch 'Em.
Evan Wagner led the way with two goals and an assist while Brody West and Jett Fogle had two each and Deizel Leet a single. Ethan Barron made 24 saves for DRT.
The lone Hitch 'Em goal came off the stick of Jaxon Boucher while Nathan Crawley and affiliated player Cole Ramteemal combined to stop 40.
Dreger led 2-0 after the first and stretched that to 4-1 after two periods.
The Dreger win was the only GPAC victory on the weekend, which was highlighted by GPAC Day in Clairmont on Saturday.
Another GPAC team, Boston Pizza U16 Storm, did manage a point on Saturday when they battled to a 4-4 draw against the Edmonton SSAC Bulldogs.
Kjelt Sandboe, Denon Bamber, Ethan Boutcher and Tye Evans scored and Terris Lappenbush made 34 saves in that game.
On Sunday, in a 6-1 loss to SSAC, Bamber had the only goal and Eric Schultz made 34 saves for the Storm, who sit in sixth place in the North Division of the Alberta Minor Midget Hockey League with three wins, four losses and a tie.
In Alberta Midget Hockey League play the GPAC Ernie's Sports Experts Storm had their three-game win streak come to an end with a pair of losses.
On Saturday Edge Lambert, Cam Wiebe and Sheldon Kwiatkowski had the goals and Cam Beson made 30 saves in a close 4-3 loss to the Airdrie Bisons.
On Sunday Lambert and Jayden Watson scored and McCoy Bidewell had 28 saves as the Storm fell 5-2 to the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers.
The losses means Ernie's drops to third place in the Dodge Division with five wins, four losses and a tie.
The Golden Arrow Bantam Storm suffered a similar fate as the Midget AAA team with a close loss Saturday and then more lopsided defeat Sunday.
In the first of two against the Sherwood Park Flyers on Saturday, the visitors were 5-4 winners in Alberta Bantam Hockey League play.
Simon Hamilton, Sam Antonio, Steel Burke and Jaxson Walker scored and Vaughn Kaliel made 45 saves for the Storm.
On Sunday the Flyers were 5-2 winners with Hamilton and Lucas Schuett scoring the goals and Connor Stojan making 38 saves.
The GA team sits in fifth place in the Charger Division of the ABHL with a win and nine losses.
The Peaceland Directional Drilling Storm were also in action on the weekend falling 8-3 to the St. Albert Crusaders on Saturday.
