It was the first busy weekend of play for Grande Peace Athletic Club teams on the weekend - and a struggle to garner points.

On Sunday GPAC clubs went 0-5; Saturday out four games there was one that grabbed a point; and Friday none.

Not all bad news, though.

Of the five games Sunday three of the losses were just be one goal.

In Alberta Midget Hokey League play the GPAC Ernie's Sports Experts Storm dropped a lose 3-2 decision in St. Albert against the Raiders.

Jayden Watson and Edge Lambert got the goals in that one while Cameron Beson made 30 saves in net for GP.

Next action for the Ernie's team is Oct. 6 in Calgary against the Flames.

Carter Kreller and Landon Sather had the goals and Ethan Barron made 31 saves as the GPAC Dreger Racing Team club dropped a 4-3 close one to the Peace River Sabres on Sunday in Edmonton Rural Bantam AAA Hockey League play.

Next action for the Dreger team is Oct. 6 when they take on ERBAAAL opponent Hitch 'Em Oilfield Rentals with city bragging rights, at least for the weekend, up for grabs.

Alberta Minor Midget Hockey League play Sunday saw the GPAC Boston Pizza Storm nipped 6-5 by the St. Albert Flyers in Grande Prairie.

Landon Hedges and Chase Jonson had two goals each and Colton Burke a single for the Storm in that one while Eric Shultz made 23 saves and Terris Lappenbush 10 for the Storm. The BP team takes on MLAC in Edmonton on Oct. 6 in their next game.

The GPAC Golden Arrow Storm were also competitive, falling 5-3 to the Oil Kings in Leduc on Sunday.

Lucas Schuett, Trayton Banner and Rhys Doyle had the goals in that goal and Connor Stojan made 42 saves in that one. Golden Arrow gets a couple of weeks off before heading to Airdrie to take on the Xtreme on Oct. 13.

In Edmonton Rural Bantam AA Hockey League action Sunday Peaceland Directional Drilling Storm travelled to Wainwright to take on the Polar Kings and fell 7-2.

Brody Thomson and Jackyson Clark had the goals and Lee Lappenbush made 40 says for Peaceland. They host the Peace River Royals on Oct. 6 in their next game.

Four Grande Peace Athletic Club teams were in action on Saturday and one managed to secure a point.

Thanks to a goal by Hudson Foley at 19:21 of the third period the GPAC Ernie's Sports Experts Midget AAA Storm skated off with a 3-3 tie against the Lloydminster Bobcats in the Coca-Cola Centre.

Edge Lambert scored the other two Ernie's goals while McCoy Bidewell made 41 saves to preserve the tie in the first action of the regular season in the Alberta Midget Hockey League for both teams.

It was close, but no points, for the Peaceland Directional Drilling Storm Saturday in a 5-4 loss to the Panthers in Lakeland in Northern Alberta Midget AA Hockey League play.

Clint Lefley, Daniel Greber, Carter Berg and Cody Quinton scored for the Storm and Ben Sigurdson made 32 saves.

Jayden Gordey, Chase Jonzon and Landon Hedges all had goals and Terris Lappenbush made 43 saves, but the GPAC Boston Pizza U16 Storm fell 5-3 to the St. Albert Flyers in Clairmont.  

Saturday was not kind to the GPAC Golden Arrow Bantam AAA Storm in Alberta Major Bantam AAA play in Edmonton against the KC Club. The Storm, with Vaughan Kaliel making 33 saves, fell 9-0.

In a game Friday, the GPAC Hitch 'Em Oilfield Storm fell 7-4 to the Peace River Sabres in the Coke Can.

Morgan Brady, Adam Morrow, Aiden Doyle and Devon Barcley scored in that game for GP while Nathan Crawley made 30 saves.
