BANTAM AAA FIRST UP
And so it begins!
The Grande Peace Athletic Club Golden Arrow Bantam AAA Storm will be the first Club team to hit the ice for a regular season game when they host the Lloydminster Bobcats in a pair of games in the Crosslink Arena in Clairmont.
It kicks off at 4:30 p.m. Saturday and continues with the second half of the double-dip on Sunday, again at Crosslink, Sunday at 10 a.m.
Last year the Storm finished in fourth place in the Charger North Division of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League with 32 points. The Bobcats were fifth with 28.
The Storm advanced to the playoffs in the spring, losing out 2-1 in an exciting best-of-three against the Leduc Oil Kings.
The other GPAC teams - Ernie's Sports Experts Midget AAA Storm, Boston Pizza U16 Storm, Hitch 'Em Oilfield and Dreger Racing and Peaceland Directional Drilling Bantam AA Storm - all open their regular seasons next weekend.
