U16 TOURNEY & BERG HEAD COACH

Grande Peace Athletic Club Boston Pizza U16 Storm head coach Wade Wallan may not know a lot about his squad today, but by Sept. 18 he will have a pretty good handle on it.

The Boston Pizza club is involved in a six-team tournament in Calgary Sept. 15-17 called the Edge School Fall Ice Fest Weekend.

The are playing out of the A Pool with the Edge Mountaineers and Prairie Hockey Academy while the B Pool includes Northern Alberta Xtreme, Red Deer Northstar Chiefs and Rink Hockey Academy.

The Storm open Sept. 15 with an out-of-pool game against the Rink at 7:15 p.m. Saturday they play Red Deer at 8:30 a.m. and the Xtreme at 7:15 p.m.

On Sunday at 7:45 a.m. the third place teams from each team play; at 8:15 a.m. second in each pool play and then at 10:30a.m. the top teams from each pool meet in the finale.

In other GPAC news, GPAC is proud to announce that Fraser Berg will be the head coach of the Peaceland Directional Drilling Midget AA Storm.

That team kicks off camp tonight at 8:15 p.m. at the Chris McMillan Arena in Clairmont and then continues Monday at 4:45 p.m. in the same venue.

The team will be going to the Icebreaker Tournament in Whitecourt Sept. 22-24.
